Any Questions about TMS?

TMS is an intense two-week program where interdisciplinary teams collaborate to develop innovative prototypes, combining hands-on learning with expert mentorship.

TMS is open to students from all backgrounds and disciplines across TUM. Whether you’re a Problem Expert, Tech Developer, or Business Developer, there’s a role for you.

Absolutely! Whether you can participate largely depends on your field of study and background. We encourage you to give it a try. If you’re not selected this time, you’re welcome to apply for the next batch in the following semester.

The program includes four key phases: Discover, Define, Develop, and Deliver. Each phase focuses on different aspects of the innovation process, from identifying problems to creating and presenting solutions.

The TMS team provides extensive support throughout the program, including guidance from mentors, access to prototyping tools, and resources to help you succeed.

On Demo Day, teams present their final prototypes to a panel of judges and an audience. It’s an opportunity to showcase your work, receive feedback, and celebrate your achievements.

We provide pre-course materials, including recommended readings and videos on Moodle, to help you get up to speed.  Additionally, you’ll have time to connect with your team and start brainstorming ideas at Pre-event.

Yes, as the Post-Event is for you to submit the reimbursement form with all bills for the project. One person is the team is responsible for collecting all the invoices and filling out the form. Make sure that this person submits everything on the Post-Event.

No, the first two days are where teams are formed and it’s not possible to catch up. Failure to attend the first two days will result in a failed attempt on the course – unless you inform us in time, in this case, we’ll just never enroll you.

Yes, failure to show up without notice will lead to a failed course.

We will fail you. We have more than 200 applications every semester and feel that this is only fair if you needlessly take away the opportunity of someone else to take part in the course.

Every working day (including pre-event) of the two weeks from 09:00-18:00; weekend optional

Projects vary widely but generally focus on solving real-world problems with innovative, practical solutions. Past projects have addressed issues in sustainability, healthcare, urban mobility, and more.
